Oakville Homeowners Asked to Report Suspicious Activity
The Halton Regional Police Service is asking the residents of Oakville to keep watch in their neighbourhoods and properly secure their valuables.
Recent reports indicate that the Clearview, Glen Abbey and Palermo areas of Oakville are being targeted by a group of break and enter suspects. The suspects work in groups of two or four and force open the front door of the residence between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
They ransack the home to steal jewellery, small electronics and cash. It is believed that the suspects sit and watch for the home owner to leave the residence and will often ring the doorbell several times to ensure no one is home before they force entry.
Residents are asked to pay special attention to suspicious vehicles or suspicious persons in their neighbourhood, get a description and immediately report their observations to the police.
Homeowners are encouraged to visit www.haltonpolice.ca for tips related to crime prevention and home security.
